You don't win silver, you lose gold!”
These were the words of an Olympian after coming in second in the 100m sprint. Games at the IMED are played with much fervor and passion. There is emphasis on regular exercise and physical fitness. All games are supervised by masters. Team spirit and the desire to give the best performance possible are our watchwords.
Sport is an integral part for the Development of any student and is an important activity at the campus. The institute has both indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The students are selected for various sports categories through a well defined procedure. Every year an intercollegiate sport meet is organized for various sports categories for the constituents units of Bharati Vidyapeeth. The University teams are subsequently selected based on the performance at the intercollegiate level. Students of IMED were selected for representing the university for various report categories like Cricket, football, bad mention, Table Tennis.
In addition to sport there are a wide range of co-curricular activities that take place regularly throughout the session. Through these we aim to develop a student’s individual interests and talents as well as leading them towards wider ones. The institute in co-ordination with the students keeps on organizing various co-curricular activities throughout the academic calendar and also ensures active participation of students in the same. Students here are encouraged to participate in competitions at inter-collegiate and higher levels so as to ignite within them the flame of confidence and determination.
The Department of Sports is headed by Mr. Netaji .M. Jadhav, Physical Director of IMED. There is an effective student Committee with Mr. Aniket Singh as its Secretary. Sports and games being an integral part of IMED’s educational programme. IMED is proud of its endeavors in providing students with following facilities.
